While at UDA Architects (now Urban Design Associates), Karen Loysen was responsible for the design of the award-winning SMS Engineering Building, located on Pittsburgh’s North Side. A rich palette of brick, steel, and aluminum ties this building to its urban context, and showcases the ferrous and non-ferrous metals produced in facilities designed by SMS Engineering.
