Luma Restaurant

Luma Restaurant

$0.00

So, how does one transform a former pizza joint into a white tablecloth restaurant? Great food, great drinks, and great service of course, but before that, understanding the raw space, the owner’s requirements, and exploring how the two can best come together.

Luma, in the technical sense, is the measure of brightness. It is paired with chroma, the dimension of color. Lighting then, became the launchpad to establish atmosphere in the public spaces. Floating rosewood panels conceal ductwork and color-programmable ambient lighting, while multi-channel, dimmable overhead lighting provides an analogue for the nighttime sky (to get the relative magnitudes of the ‘stars’ right). The bar and other furnishings are internally illuminated as well.

The dining room opens onto a new, three-season, outdoor terrace, providing variety and additional capacity.
